About DCT
The Directorate of Craftsmen Training (DCT), Manipur (set up in 1980) under the Department of Labour and Employment, Govt. of Manipur is the state level apex organization under the Administrative control of the Secretary (Lab)/Ex-Officio Director of Craftsmen Training and the Joint Director of Craftsmen Training as the Head of Department for development and co-ordination of programmes relating to Vocational Training through the Industrial Training Institutes spread across the State of Manipur. Admission, training and examination (trade testing) of Craftsmen are conducted with guidance, policy and instruction from the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Govt. of India.
The Department activities covered establishment and development of
(i) CRAFTSMEN TRAINING SCHEME AND
(ii) APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING SCHEME
There are 11 (eleven) Govt. Industrial Training Institutes are running and plays an important role in producing skilled manpower for the Industrial Development in the State.
