INTRODUCTION TO ITI SENAPATI
The Government Women Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Takyel, is a renowned institute established in 1993 and is controlled by the Directorate of Craftsmen Training, Manipur. It was established under P.M package No. DG&T 2(4) 2001 – CPIU/NFS. Govt. of India, Ministry of labour DG&T for development of I.T.I s in North Eastern and Sikkim and Enhancing Skill Development Infrastructure/ in North Eastern state(E.S.D.I). Located on New Cachar Road, about 5 kilometers from Imphal City, the institute is dedicated to empowering women through skill development and vocational training. It plays a vital role in equipping women with market-relevant skills, fostering self-reliance, and contributing to economic growth.
The institute offers training in six distinct trades:
- COPA (Computer Operator and Programming Assistant): Provides skills in computer operations and programming, preparing women for opportunities in the IT sector.
- Cosmetology (Hair and Skin Care): Focuses on grooming and
beauty care, enabling women to establish careers in the beauty and wellness industry.
- Fruit and Vegetable Processor: Imparts knowledge about food processing and preservation, promoting entrepreneurial ventures in the food industry.
- Dress Making: Develops skills in tailoring and garment creation, opening pathways in fashion design and entrepreneurship.
- Surface Ornamentation Techniques (Embroidery): Encourages creativity in fabric design, offering career prospects in the textile and craft industries.
- Secretarial Practice: Trains women in office administration and clerical
skills, essential for various corporate and government roles.
